Spring/Summer Lecture Programme

Energy Flux and Matrix Studies: Dafis

A foundation course placing special emphasis on the manipulation of matter as energy, this course involves assessment of the field equations underlying the Galvanic Thrust. Students are encouraged to explore in some depth the possibilities for augmentation of the sensorium of relevant entities. A 'Pass' or better is a prerequisite for further study in this field.

Comparative Philosophy: Durgal Corwaine

Included in the Third Year Syllabus, this course is a prerequisite for any post-graduate work. Graduates in receipt of Second Class degrees will normally be given preferential treatment when registering for Theology (both Comparative and Compound) when those courses are resumed.

Personal Ethical Development: Durgal Corwaine

One of the standard courses in the First Year Syllabus, although a 'Pass' or better in this course is also required of all permanent staff under the age of thirty-five. Attendance at lectures is therefore not recorded, and the normal Final Examination is replaced by a series of set papers. It should be noted that individuals convicted of an indictable offence whilst attending this course will be regarded as failing same.

The Appropriate Applications of Altruism : Durgal Corwaine

An unusual course consisting of a series of one-hour lectures given not to the student body but to assembled parties of students, parents and local dignitaries. There is no Final Examination: a wine-tasting session precedes the last lecture, which culminates in the arrival of the Bursar to debate the topic with those present. This course is compulsory but may be taken in any year of study.

Comparative Ethnology of the Half-Men: Iunutharis Grashpotel

The Sage Grashpotel's most popular course, this is normally a prerequisite for the 'Beasts and Hybrids' series. At the time of registration students should be demonstrably fit, of active disposition, and not over-confident in their abilities. It should be noted that a significant number of students fail to complete this course in a single year: those who choose to re-register for a second attempt once their injuries have healed generally succeed.

Beasts and Hybrids II: Iunutharis Grashpotel

This course is compulsory for all students (it is worth remembering that many who have graduated but failed to make their mark in other fields have gone on to forge successful careers in celebrity catering based on the knowledge gained on this course). The casualty rate is lower than that of Comparative Ethnology, but on registration all students are required to make a 1000 terce non-refundable deposit to cover recovery of the body and basic funeral expenses.

Modern Herbalism: Pic

Part of the standard First Year Syllabus, this course has also proved popular with the wider public as an introduction to herbal medicine or the production of high-quality recreational hallucinogens. Always massively oversubscribed, we recommend that students register for this course at their earliest convenience.

Applied Arcanobotany: Pic

Another very popular course, one in which many students have not only made friends for life but have been able to take them home to reside in an herbarium. There are no prerequisites, but a grade of 'Pass' or better in one of the 'Beasts and Hybrids' series may prove useful.

Concealment & Suggestion: The Art of the 15th Aeon: Volune Stinobric

This is one of the extremely popular "History of Eroticism" series recommended to those intending a career in the Fine Arts. The lecturer insists on a high degree of literacy and is reknowned for pointed comments about those who confuse his Arts Martial and Arts Marital courses. He has also pointed out that five years is not a long time and service in Valderan's Green Legion has been the making of many a young man.

Punctuation, syllable stress and the death of civilised values: Kemawick Perrin

A short course useful mainly for this who wish to teach later in life.

The demon worlds in myth and delusion: Kemawick Perrin

A requirement for all Fourth Year students, this short course is presented at irregular intervals. Note that there is no Final Examination; grades are determined from attendance records.

The fauna and flora of the Scaum Basin: Myra the Rootless

An intensive course emphasising taxonomic reductionism combined with compilation and use of the definitive Catalogues. This course has proven popular with students having no interest in Catering as a career.
